More about me:
Dr. Seuss once said, “I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living… it’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.” I embrace this whimsical perspective, blending the sacred and the silly in my art-making, teaching, and facilitation—a playful yet reverent approach to the awe-inspiring.
I love making art with other beings gathered around, especially children. I’ve always been drawn to crafts and community, finding meaning through materials. Many summers at the Grunewald Guild—an artist retreat center nestled in Washington’s Cascade Mountains—revealed to me the magic that happens when creativity meets intentional community. Amid the joyful mess of art supplies, conversations spark transformation, and life’s big questions are explored through the senses.
My own search for transcendent meaning includes a deep curiosity about religious art, sacred spaces, and “material piety”—those beloved objects, tchotchkes, and trinkets we keep close to remind us of truth, memory, or hope.
I live in the Seattle area with my family, a very chatty cat, a well-stocked craft closet, and a generous snack stash.
My screen prints are perfect for mailing or gifting—small acts of beauty that brighten someone’s day and help strengthen human connection..
